Keerthika Vivek, co-founder of Village Masala, built the brand from a deeply personal place. Growing up in a family where the kitchen was the centre of daily life, she absorbed the rhythms of Indian cooking from childhood — the blooming of mustard seeds in hot oil, the slow reduction of a tamarind rasam, the particular fragrance of freshly ground masala that no packaged spice blend could ever fully capture.

When she moved abroad, she discovered what millions of Indians in the diaspora already knew: finding genuinely authentic Indian groceries outside India was harder than it should be. The Indian section of a local supermarket offered limited options. Indian grocery stores existed in major cities, but quality was inconsistent and range was narrow. And for Indians living away from major metro areas, the challenge was even more acute.

Village Masala was her answer. An online platform dedicated to sourcing and delivering authentic Indian spices, lentils, flours, oils, snacks, and grocery staples — directly from trusted suppliers in India to homes anywhere in the world. Today, the brand carries over 276 products across categories including spices and masala, lentils and pulses, flours and grains, oils and ghee, snacks and sweets, and ready-to-eat mixes.
