The quest to empower youth and develop skills has gathered momentum with a three-day training program, “Scouting for All,” scheduled at Kishor Bharati Stadium, Kolkata. The program, being conducted in association with the Government of West Bengal, endeavors to enrich scouting education and incorporate UNICEF’s Passport to Earning (P2E) program, which emphasizes digital productivity and financial literacy.
A Multi-Faceted Initiative for Holistic Development
The “Scouting for All” training program is intended to impart the necessary scouting skills to the students, developing discipline, leadership, and endurance. With the integration of the UNICEF P2E program, the participants will be provided with advanced training in online tools and economic literacy, enabling them to excel in a technologically driven economy. The program also complements the larger vision of instilling self-sufficiency and career preparedness among youth.
The initiative seeks to impart important life skills to the participants, such as teamwork, problem-solving, and being adaptable, which are crucial both for personal and professional development. Youth will be equipped with survival skills, leadership skills, and computer literacy through a systemized approach so that they can acquire a holistic set of skills for the future. In yet another pioneering initiative, a free hotel management training course has been launched. This government-validated program is to be offered in high schools in different districts of West Bengal. The long-term goal is to implement this program on a large scale throughout the country, and make it accessible to young people in India who want to start a career in the hospitality industry.
Expansion Plans: A Nationwide Vision
The success of these programs in West Bengal has laid the foundation for a wider expansion plan. Steps are already being taken to spread these programs across India, making it possible for youth from various states to take advantage of structured skill development initiatives. The vision is to create a complete nationwide platform where young people can take advantage of industry-specific training programs that meet the needs of today’s workforce.
The initiative also aims to work in association with national and global organizations to implement state-of-the-art training modules and provide the best learning materials to participants.
