Mane Kancor Partners with Welfare Services Ernakulam to Enhance Skill Development and Employment Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities

Kochi: The Welfare Services Ernakulam and Mane Kancor join hands to focus on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative that aims to enhance skill development and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

The Mane Kancor funded programme provided skill training in horticulture nursery techniques and management for 30 individuals with disabilities over a 15 to 20-day period. Following the completion of the training, a nursery was established in Champannoor village, Angamaly, utilising land already owned by Welfare Services Ernakulam. This initiative not only equips participants with valuable skills for sustainable livelihoods but also enriches their quality of life through increased self-sufficiency and social engagement.

Welfare Services Ernakulam has been a leader in the development sector for over 58 years, championing initiatives that raise awareness, build capacity, and enhance access to welfare programs for persons with disabilities (PwDs). Recognising the barriers PwDs face in securing mainstream employment, this partnership seeks to dismantle obstacles and cultivate a more inclusive workforce. Through the partnership with Welfare Services Ernakulam, Mane Kancor aims to contribute to a more equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
